The R&B group is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "I Swear".  It's #1 for 11 weeks.

June 19, 1999 - Jennifer Lopez

JLo is #1 on Billboard with "If You Had My Love", continuing America's fascination with a latin explosion of artists on the charts.

 

June 17, 2008 - Katy Perry

We are all introduced to a new pop star that will be one of the top acts for at least the next decade.  Perry releases her first major label debut album One of the Boys, which includes her breakout hit "I Kissed A Girl".

June 20, 2011 - Carly Rae Jepsen

The new-to-the-scene and very Canadian pop singer is on the Billboard charts with "Call Me Maybe".  This ear worm is #1 for 9 weeks and on the charts altogether for 50 weeks.  That's nearly a year straight of Canadian cuteness.

June 17, 2014 - Sam Smith

British Crooner Sam Smith releases his debut album In The Lonely Hour in the U.S.  The album features his big hit "Stay With Me".
