1998 - Barenaked Ladies

"One Week" by Barenaked Ladies hits #1 in the US, where it stays for... one week.

2003 - Beyoncé

Queen B is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 'Baby Boy' featuring Sean Paul.

2008 - Adele

Adele crossing the pond to be featured as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, performing "Cold Shoulder" and "Chasing Pavements." Not only is it exciting to see Adele get onto American TV but she's also joined by political superstar, Sarah Palin, which makes for a very memorable episode.

2010 - Bruno Mars

Heartthrob and musician extraordinaire, Bruno Mars, is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 'Just the Way You Are'. Oh, the fedora days.

 

2013 - Lorde

Kiwi artist, Lorde, is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Royals".  And acapella singers rejoiced.
