When you flip on the local news, you might notice that things will look a bit different.

Way back in the day, I used to work in the building at WABI out there on good old Hildreth Street, back when they dabbled in radio, and since those days, man has that place been through some changes, and it looks like more are on the way.

On Tuesday, WABI TV-5 newscasts looked a little different, and will remain that way for the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, they will be moving to temporary locations in the building, Why? They are installing a brand new studio!

Even our pal, and weather dude, Todd Simcox. is in the dark, because when we asked him about it, he had no idea what is in store. Although he did state that anchors, sports and weather people will all be broadcasting from different locations in the building, instead of all together in the same studio

I am guessing that the new digs will have a slick, new hi-tech kind of look, because let’s face it, there has not been a remodel in that news studio for many, many years.

So for the time being they are throwing up the old “Pardon Our Appearance” sign, while they tear it down for the next two or three weeks, and get ready to give their many viewers all across Easter Maine, a whole new look. Should be fun to see what they do with the place
