Here's Where Bangor Area Students Can Get Meals During Closures

Please know that many area schools qualify as feeding sites and will feed anyone who goes there. No questions asked, no IDs required. Only students (pre K - 12) will receive meals at these sites. Students will physically need to be in the vehicle to receive these meals. 2-3 meals will be handed out at a time at these sites for each student.

Abbot

All children ages 18 and under are free. Meals will be delivered to homes daily (Monday through Friday), starting March 23rd. Meals will be delivered by bus drivers who will be driving our district vans. Please expect a drop off at your home between 8:00-10:00 am
If you have not been contacted and would like meals delivered to your home – Please call 876-4625, 876-4301, or 876-3444. Please tell us your physical address and how many children in your household 18 and under.

Albion

Meals are for students as well as children from the age of 0 to 18 and expecting mothers. They will be able to start picking up a free breakfast and lunch on March 17 from 9am to 11am, Monday thru Friday at any school (Albion Elementary, Benton Elementary, Clinton Elementary, Fairfield Primary, and the Lawrence Jr High). Aurora

Beginning March 18, the Airline School will be providing FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH for all children age 18 and under - no application is needed. Deliveries will take place Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 8:30 - 9:00 and will include weekend meals. Please contact either Kim Haley@670-5780 or Kathy Cobb@479-5458 if you would like to be added to our route.

Bangor

Starting March 16, at noon, any Bangor student may have a lunch/breakfast bag and they are available at the following sites Monday through Friday from noon-1 p.m.:

Free go-bag breakfast and lunch will be available to all RSU 71 students Monday through Friday from 8 AM - noon at East Belfast Elementary, Ames Elementary and Captain Albert Stevens Elementary Schools.

Belgrade

Belgrade Red Center, Belgrade Central. Free breakfast and lunches for all children 18 years or under. 9 AM - 11 AM.

Benton

Blue Hill

Blue Hill Consolidated School will offer two to three days worth of lunches to be picked up Tuesday and Friday mornings at BHCS between 8 AM and 10 AM outside where our buses park during pick up and drop off (think of it as curbside pick up!). These meals would continue to be free or reduced for qualifying families, and would continue to cost $2.65 per meal for all others. Delivery is also being offered

Loretta and Jerin will be calling families on Monday, but if you read this and know that you do or don’t want to have food from school, please send an email to Loretta at lsmith@bhcs.org to let us know if you do or do not want lunches, how many children and if you can pick up during that time. PLEASE do not hesitate to let Loretta, Jerin or I know if you need more food for your family during this time. We have a lot of resources and are ready to assist. We will do whatever we can to help our families.

Bradford

8 AM - 10 AM meals will be distributed at the Bradford Town Office parking lot. For questions or if you need food and are unable to pick it up, please call your child's school and arrangements will be made to get meals to you.

Brewer

Brewer Community School will have a breakfast and lunch pickup service for all Brewer school age students. This can include any person under the age of 18, or between 18 and 20 if they are still enrolled in public high school. The pickup will be at the front entrance of Brewer Community School (BCS). Service will be from 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. daily. Families should drive up and remain in their vehicle near the front doors of BCS. A staff member will hand both the lunch for that day and a breakfast for the next morning through the vehicle’s window. If possible, please have the student(s) receiving the meal with you in the vehicle. If you have a special need or circumstance please call us so we can help, (207)404-5700.

Brooks

Bagged meal pick up at Morse Memorial Elementary School 11:00AM-6:00PM on Tuesday and Wednesday at all schools- ALL children under the age of 18 can receive a FREE meal (breakfast and lunch). If you have any questions, please contact the main office of your child’s school.

Bucksport

Breakfast and lunch for each school age child, free of charge for duration of school closure. Deliveries begin daily at 10 AM by school bus or district van. Parents who would like to participate should contact the RSU 25 Food Service by calling 207-307-8008 between 9 AM and 2 PM. Please provide address the food should be delivered to, number of children at address, ages and names of children, contact phone number. Parents are asked to call daily for delivery on the following day. The program will run Monday through Friday for the duration of our school closure with the exception of any recognized holidays.

Burlington

Curb side breakfast & lunches (two days worth) will be available at both ESS and HMS/PVHS Wednesday, March 18th from 10am-11:30am. This is available to all children in the home. If you are unable to come pick up breakfast & lunches someone can pick it up for you, they will need to provide a name. Watch Facebook page for updates.

Burnham

The FREE Breakfast and Lunch program will begin on Thursday, March 19th. Each delivery will include 3 days worth of breakfast and lunch per student signed up. Please call the Vickery School at 487-5575 or Warsaw Middle School at 487-5145 to provide the number of students ages 18 and under who will be participating in the FREE Breakfast and Lunch program - THIS SERVICE IS PROVIDED AT NO COST! Meals will be delivered, beginning Thursday, March 19th between 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM. We will be able to provide more specific drop-off times once we have a list of all participants and have made an initial delivery.

Canaan

Meals will be delivered by bus and will follow existing bus routes starting at 7:30 AM.

Cambridge

Carmel

Meal program that includes breakfast and lunch. All children under 18, including those not in school qualify. Food delivery. Bus drivers will be driving their routes starting at 8 AM each day. Any student who wishes to have breakfast and lunch should go to their normal bus stop to receive their meal. If students will be at a different location than normal, if they don't normally ride a bus or you would like to pick up the meals yourself at the school, please call your child's school office Monday morning.

Deer Isle

Deliveries will be made to homes between 8:30 AM and 10 AM. We ask that you allow us to follow proper distancing, by delivering to your door or vehicle and not through hand-offs. Will receive breakfast and lunch daily. If there is a problem with any delivery, contact school's admin assistant and principal immediately.

Eastbrook

Breakfast and lunch will be provided to each student. Food will be available at normal bus routes at about 11 AM and will stop at each of its regular locations. If your child does not usually ride the bus and you would like food, please make sure that you are out by the roadside in front of your house or at the end of your road after 11 AM. This delivery will include the day's lunch and breakfast for the following day. Friday deliveries will provide additional food to cover the weekend's breakfast and lunch.

For those that do not want to utilize bus drop off methods, food will also be available for pick up at your local K-8 school. Food will be available between 8 AM and 8:30 AM and/or noon to 12:30 PM. Sumner Memorial High School students who do not opt into bus delivery can also pick up food at their town's local k-8 school (Cave Hill School, Ella Lewis School, Mountain View School and Peninsula School.

East Corinth

This is regardless of whether or not the child attends school. On Wednesday, March 18, 2020 we will open a feeding site at Old Town High School on Stillwater Avenue in Old Town where meals can be picked up between 10 AM and noon. Meals will be provided at no charge to anyone age 18 or under. Please watch for more information about the provision of meals going forward. We are working to make sure all in need are provided for.

Veazie schools will continue to provide breakfast and lunch for students qualifying for free & reduced lunch. The bus will leave VCS at 8am with a Veazie police officer on board and make a trip using normal bus routes. It will be expected that students or parents meet the bus at the road or normal bus stop. Brown-bag meals will be distributed for multiple days at a time in an effort to minimize social interaction. We will send home 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches on Tuesday, March 17, and 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches on Thursday, March 19. Next week, we will send home two breakfasts and 2 lunches on Monday, March 23 and 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches on Wednesday, March 25. We will continue with this Monday/Wednesday schedule should the school closure go beyond two weeks.
