During this unprecedented event, we here in the Bangor area are witnessing a lot of firsts during this COVD-19, formerly coronavirus, pandemic.  Maine has started to have cases emerge in southern counties but, the Bangor area is bracing for the impact with large events being cancelled and area schools now closing for at least the next two weeks.

In her address to the State of Maine last night, Governor Mills stated that a waiver from the USDA will allow schools to provide meals offsite to students.  But there are a couple of places in the Bangor Area that are offering free lunches for kids during school closures due to the COVD-19 pandemic.

BANGOR

On a Facebook post on Saturday, Jersey's Subs & Sweets, on Hammond Street in Downtown Bangor, in conjunction with W.A. Bean & Son, located on Bomarc Road in Bangor, are offering free bag lunches to students and children.

HERMON

C&K Variety out of Hermon announced on Facebook on March 14 that they will be offering bagged breakfast or lunch options.
