Downtown Bangor has a new hot spot for movie lovers.

Queen City Cinema Club, located below newly renamed restaurant Mama D (formerly Zen) on Main street, opened its doors today. The theater features two screens, which you can rent for a group of up to eight people. They can accommodate larger groups with advance notice. Movie goers can choose from a list of more than 1,000 flicks, from older titles to recent releases. In addition to movies, the cinema club will also have board and video games.

Other amenities include a bar, featuring local craft beer and wine, and a food menu featuring nachos, pretzels, and hot dogs. Cinema staples like soft drinks, candy, and popcorn also will be served.

The cinema club offers memberships which features extra benefits like extended happy hour pricing, home rentals and special event invitations. Memberships are not required.
