This classic about "The Queen City" gets rebooted "Pop-Up" style!

With all of the songs about warm weather places out there, why not a song about a cold-weather place? Namely, Bangor!

The Nite Show with Danny Cashman took it upon himself to make it happen, using a popular "warm weather place" song as the inspiration. You may recognize the classic Will Smith jam "Miami" in this tune. While Dan's rapping skills leave something to be desired, he's our pal, and he did a great job with this one.

In March of 2019, back when the world was a far different place, The Nite Show produced this video about Bangor. There were a ton of behind the scenes moments associated with the song, they created the classic "Pop Up Video" style method of telling the story. Pop Up Video is a VH1 television show that played music videos annotated via "pop-up" bubbles that contained "info nuggets" The show premiered October 27, 1996, and for awhile, it was their highest rated program.

In addition to fun "pop up" style facts, you will notice some Bangor landmarks in the video, including Thomas Hill Standpipe, Dysart's, The Kenduskeag Stream, Downtown Bangor, and of course no song about our fair city would be complete without our most famous resident, the one and only, Stephen King.

The Nite Show with Danny Cashman airs Saturday at 11:30 p.m. on WABI TV5/Bangor, Saturday at 10:30 p.m. on FOX 23/Portland, Saturday at midnight on WAGM FOX 8/Presque Isle, and Sunday at 1 a.m. on WGME CBS 13/Portland.
