For over 3 decades, Fred Rogers, better known to most of the population as Mr. Rogers, helped plant the seeds of empathy, kindness and understanding in generations of kids, and then went on to water those seeds and watch them grow. When he finally succumbed to cancer in February of 2003, many felt like a bright light went out in the world. And if you look at the state of things today, its harder recognize those traits he worked so hard to plant anywhere around us. I think that's one of the reasons why people have been eagerly awaiting this movie's release!

After being but a distant memory for 15 years, Mr. Rogers popped back onto our radar, thanks to a documentary about him called "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" that came out in January of 2018. Then the buzz started up that America's sweetheart, Tom Hanks, was slated to play Mr. Rogers himself in this new movie Sony Pictures was putting out called "It's A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood" and folks really started to talk.

Aside from a leaked photo of a white-haired Hanks, there wasn't much by way of video from the new film until this week, when Sony finally released the trailer...and it doesn't disappoint!

Hanks pretty much nails it. The story looks amazing. And I think, more than anything, people just feel like this is exactly what the world needs right now; a movie to plant more seeds of kindness, by reminding us of the gardener who came before.

The movie was originally slated to come out in October of this year, but Sony thought it would be a better fit during the season of Thanksgiving. So look for "It's A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood" in theaters this November.
