Simon Cowell’s ‘Ultimate DJ’ Competition Show is Happening

It will be like American Idol, for DJs.

Simon Cowell wants to find world’s greatest DJs. After announcing plans for the show in 2012, it's been a long road bringing the idea to fruition. The idea was bad mouthed by some of the biggest DJs and producers in the world, and soon after scrapped. However, it seems new life has been pumped into the concept.

Yahoo Live, Syco Entertainment, Ultra Records and Sony Music are all in on the talent contest. The live, global DJ competition will be aired via Yahoo Live. All the voting will be handled via Tumblr. The winner earns a gig at a major electronic music festival, and a contract with Ultra Records and Sony Music.

No air date has been released yet, or who will judge the competition.
