Maine Fine Dining Spot Ranked Among America’s Best
Forks up, Maine! One of the best fine dining restaurants in the country is right here in our backyard. Who’s hungry?
Lovefood is a popular online food platform that provides recipes, cooking guides, food news, restaurant reviews, and meal planning.
They also make lists, which we love, so when it came down to choosing the best fine dining restaurant experience in each state, we just HAD to know what their choice for Maine was.
Union, located in The Press Hotel, at 390 Congress Street, in Portland, a converted former newspaper building, the dining room is a sight to behold, with slate flooring, drum-style chandeliers, and some classy touches like candles in sea-glass bowls.
Union serves up vibrant flavors with dishes like scallops in apple butter, cider-brined chicken, and braised chuck ragù! All of it is made with local seafood, meat, produce, and honey from its rooftop garden.
Don’t skip the desert, the chocolate layer cake with cocoa nibs, is a highlight.
The drinks are epic too, Think seasonal cocktails like “Blueberries For Sal”, plenty of local draft beers, and a wine selection that isd eclectic to say the least.
Yelpers agree on this upscale dining choice:
Union is fantastic... The refined decor and professional yet friendly staff perfectly complemented the chef's creations.
Brussel sprouts and cheese fritters... perfectly cooked… a mix of flavors was terrific.
