Craving the ultimate burger & fries? Don’t miss Maine’s bucket list pick!

Lovefood is a food website known for recipes, restaurant reviews, cooking guides, and nationwide “best of” lists.

We love a good list—so when Lovefood set out to find the best bucket list burger & fries in every state, we had to see what they picked for Maine.

Their selections are based on user reviews, awards and accolades, and a team that travels the country sampling dishes firsthand.

For Maine, they chose The Palace Diner in Biddeford,a legendary spot known for its historic setting and standout comfort food.

The cheeseburger, stacked with cheddar, iceberg lettuce, pickles, mayo, and mustard, is a local favorite and a true bucket list bite.

The “Palais Royale” features double smash patties, cheddar, shredded lettuce, pickles, and special sauce on a sesame seed bun—simple, classic, and seriously satisfying.

The fries are just as tasty, they are crispy outside, fluffy inside, perfectly salted, and never greasy.

It’s no surprise the diner has earned national attention, including a feature on the Netflix show "Somebody Feed Phil" and props from Reader’s Digest as one of Maine’s best burger spots.

What really makes it stand out is the restored 1927 Pollard railcar, you can't help but feel like you are at an iconic spot, especially when you learn that it is one of only two remaining in the United States!

With just 15 counter seats inside the original railcar layout, it delivers one of the most distinctive diner experiences in the country.

If your travels take you to that part of Maine this summer, The Palace Diner is a MUST stop dining spot.
