A Navy destroyer built in Maine will return to the state as a part of the Fourth of July festivities in Eastport.

The state's biggest Fourth of July celebration will feature about 380 special guests. The U.S. Navy is sending the destroyer U.S.S. Jason Dunham DDG-109 and its crew to attend the Eastport Fourth of July festivities. The guided missile destroyer is expected to arrive in Eastport around noon, July 3.

The Arleigh Burke-class destroyer was built by Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine. Construction on the ship began in 2008, and was christened on Aug. 1, 2009. Her home port is Norfolk, Virginia.

Last Fourth of July, Eastport was visited by the destroyer U.S.S. McFaul.
