Let's take a look at the fall foliage report for this week, October 9th - October 15th, for the state of Maine.

This week we are seeing the peak foliage for this season across much of the State of Maine.  From Fryeburg, Augusta, Bangor, Millinocket, Houlton and north, we are seeing the peak of color with a 70 - 100% color change.  Areas along the coast and further Downeast are nearing the peak of foliage.

The peak week for the Bangor area to check out the best and brightest foliage viewing is predicted to be somewhere near October 15th - 20th.

Nationwide Fall Foliage

Smokeymountains.com has put up an interactive map so you can check out what's going on with the fall foliage nationwide.

This week, peak levels have passed for higher elevations in the Rocky Mountain areas, and northern regions in the Midwest and northern Eastern states from New York state to Maine.  Areas surrounding these past peak areas lie mostly in the near peak or at peak stages, mostly covering the northern half of the United States with the South and southern parts of the Western states.  Beyond those areas, fall foliage is patchy to partial conditions.

Stay tuned, more updates to come!
