Maine is well represented!

Voting for the New England Music Awards is underway! The annual event highlights music created right here in New England. Maine has an impressive number of nominated artists.

The King of Maine, Spose hailing from 'sunny Wells Maine' has a nod for Hip Hop Act of the Year. Also nominated is Lady Essence, from Portland.

From Buxton, Maine the folk group, The Ghost of Paul Revere has a nomination for Roots Act of the Year.

Maine may be the home of the Country Act of the Year. North of Nashville from Portland, Maine is one of six nominated bands.

The odds are already in the favor of the Bangor duo of When Particles Collide. They  won New Artist of the Year at the Boston Music Awards last month. They're nominated for Rock Act of the Year.

The hard hitting Oxford band, Dead Season, is up for Metal Act of the Year.

In the 'Best in State' category, Bangor rockers Bangtown Timebomb has a nod. Other Maine artist in the running are Sygnal to Noise, Muddy Ruckus, Hilton Park and The Band Apollo.

The New England Music Awards will be presented at Showcase Live in Foxboro, Massachusetts on Saturday April, 18th.
