Looking for one more classic Maine road trip stop before summer slips away? 🌭 Flo's Hot Dogs, at 1359 Route 1 in Cape Neddick, has been serving steamed hot dogs since 1959, and generations of fans swear they’re among the best in the state.

Florence Stacy bought the business in 1959 and ran it for 14 years before selling it to her son and daughter-in-law, John and Gail Stacy, who have operated Flo’s ever since.

You could make the case that not much has changed at Flo’s over the past 67 years—and that’s part of the charm. It’s still cash-only, so be sure to bring some along before you make the trip.

And then there’s the famous relish. Flo’s signature relish pairs perfectly with mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup, and fans also enjoy it on hamburgers, steak, ham, eggs and beans.

While many seasonal Maine favorites close up once summer ends, Flo’s is actually open year-round, Thursday through Sunday from 11am to 3pm. They offer takeout, outdoor seating and parking, so there’s no need to squeeze in your last hot dog before Labor Day.
