Several Brewer Police cruisers were on North Main Street Sunday night as they investigated a report of someone allegedly shooting at cars and homes.

The initial report came in just after 9 p.m. Sunday, when someone reported their vehicle had been struck by a bullet while it was traveling on North Main Street. Several other residents who live in the same area where the man said his vehicle was hit, reported they had bullet holes in their windows.

Police responded with multiple cruisers in anticipation of a possible shooter. However, detectives determined that firearms were not used in the incidents. Police did not release details on what they believe actually happened.

The case continues to be under investigation and has been classified as criminal mischief and/or reckless conduct. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Brewer Police Department at (207) 989-7001.

We'll update this story as more details are released.
