Bernie Sanders Schedules Maine Campaign Stops
Democratic presidential candidate U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders will appear in Maine on Labor Day weekend.
Sanders, D-Vermont, will appear at a rally on Sunday, September 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the State Theater at 609 Congress Street in Portland. The event is free and open to the public. RSVPs are encouraged but not required. If you wish to attend this event, please click here. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
Then, on Monday, September 2, Sanders will attend the Southern Maine Labor Council Labor Day Breakfast at the Irish Heritage Center at 34 Gray Street in Portland.This is a ticketed open to the public. If you wish to attend this event, click here for more information.
Sanders is the second 2020 candidate to visit the state in recent weeks. Earlier this month, South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg stopped in Portland.
In the 2016 caucuses, Sanders scored a two-to-one victory in Maine over eventual nominee Hillary Clinton.
