Parts of Eastern Maine could see as much as three or more inches of rain Wednesday night into Thursday.

The National Weather Service is warning of flash flooding throughout Eastern Maine Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Forecasters are predicting soaking rain that could dump nearly two inches of rain on the Bangor area. Bar Harbor and coastal areas could see as much as two and a half inches of rain, with locally higher amounts of three or more inches possible.

The heaviest rainfall is expected between midnight and daybreak Thursday. Localized flash flooding is possible, especially in higher terrain areas. Minor widespread low-land flooding is possible in urban areas.
