Let's take a look at the fall foliage report for this week, September 30th - October 6th, for the state of Maine.

Northern Maine has moderate change, which includes the towns of Rangeley, Greenville, Millinocket, Houlton.  This is a 50% color change over.  Meanwhile areas south of these towns are in the lower change over percentages of 10% - 30% with a leaf drop of less than 30%.

The peak week for the Bangor area to check out the best and brightest foliage viewing is predicted to be somewhere near October 15th - 20th.

Smokeymountains.com has put up an interactive map so you can check out what's predicted with the fall foliage nationwide.

This week, peak and near-peak foliage is happening through the Rocky Mountain States (Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana), through northern central states (North Dakota, Wisconsin, Michigan) and the north eastern United States (Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine).

Most of the north half of the United States are starting to see some changeover in color of the leaves while the southern half, with exclusion of higher elevated areas, not seeing a change quite yet.

Stay tuned, more updates to come!
