You can give back to your community, and give the gift of life in Bangor, this Thursday afternoon.

It's the middle of April, it's officially spring, the worst appears to be behind us as people get vaccinated for Covid-19, but one things is always constant, and that is the need for blood donors, and this is where our friends at the American Red Cross come in.

This Thursday, April 15th, from noon-5pm, at the Anah Shrine, located at 1404 Broadway, in Bangor, there will be a blood drive. Supplies are low, so that's why the Anah Shriners are hosting this event. Keep in mind that Maine CDC social distancing measures are still in place, so mask up!

If you would like to schedule an appointment to donate, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS

In case you are wondering, there is no blood donation deferral time if you receive a COVID-19 vaccine. But, knowing the name of the manufacturer is important in determining if you are eligible to donate. If you have received a COVID vaccine, you will need to provide the manufacturer name when donating. You then get a card that indicates which shot you received.

If you are symptom free and feel well at the time of your donation, you should be good to go. The video below from the American Red Cross will break down all the steps and important information that you need to know, so don't be shy, schedule an appointment, and head to the Anah Shrine this Thursday, between 12pm-5pm!
