Here’s one more thing that will be different this year for Easter. The YWCA MDI Spring Fling and Egg Hunt event is on, but it won’t look the same.

Abby Robinson from The YWCA says, "While we normally have games, crafts, cookie decorating and an egg hunt we are unable to do that this year, our hope was to be able provide some Easter fun for local kids."

They’re calling it a "different" version of the annual Spring Fling. The event is this Saturday morning between 10 a.m. and noon.  And it is expected to be a nice, sunny day! The event  organizers remind everyone that all COVID precautions will be taken as to be expected. If you have any questions about specifics reach out to the YWCA with questions.

The Easter Bunny will be there.  The event is free of charge, you do not need to make a reservation, but the YWCA would like you to respond on their Facebook page by clicking ‘going’, so they can get a count of how many to expect on Saturday morning.  The Easter Bunny and staff does not want to be Overwhelmed, or Underwhelmed.  They are making the Easter Baskets now, in anticipation of a fun day for your children, and want to have the correct number.

So not the same, but still, Spring Fling and Egg Hunt is on. As my Mother used to say “It’s better than nothing” and I can’t imagine any young children not having the time of their lives and then going home with an Easter basket. And not just candy in that basket, but coloring pages and other things too.

Have fun this Saturday at the YWCA MDI.
