Winter Parking Rules Start This Week In Bangor, Brewer
Here we go again.
Once again Bangor's winter parking regulations go into effect November 1. The same goes for across the river in Brewer. The Bangor rules remain in effect until the end of March. Brewer's rules remain in effect until April 15. (Must be a longer winter over there.)
Need a refresher on the law of the land? First cue up the Storm Center theme.
Here's the breakdown from the Bangor Police Department:
'1) Night Parking – Vehicles cannot park on a public street or parking area between midnight and 6:00 AM. Cars can be ticketed and towed for this violation.
2) Alternate Side Parking (Odd-Even) – Parking is allowed on only one side of the street. On the odd numbered days of the month, cars must park on the side of the street with odd numbered addresses. On the even days of the month, cars must park on the side of the street with even numbered addresses. (i.e. On Nov 1st cars would park on the same side of the street as houses with odd numbered addresses like 1, 3, 5, etc.). Cars can be ticketed for this violation. Please note this requirement does not apply to streets where one side of the street is already posted to prohibit parking or where parking is restricted by time limits.
3) Blocking Snow Removal – Vehicles cannot be parked on a public street or parking area so as to interfere with or hinder plowing or snow removal operations. Cars can be ticketed and towed for this violation at any time of day.
Ticket waiver fees for these violations range from $10-$20 and tow fees are a minimum of $65 per vehicle.
