Maine’s Superstar Social Media Dog ‘Tatum’ Wins A ‘Webby’ Award
Way to go, Tatum!
The Webby Awards is the leading international award, honoring excellence on the Internet. Established in 1996 during the Web’s infancy, The Webbys is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.
The New York Times, calls it “The Internet's highest honor.”
Thanks not only to votes from us Mainers, but people from all over the world, Hermon's own Tatum, is the "People’s Voice Winner" in the Animals category.
Next month, Tatum and his parents will head to New York City, to accept the award.
I first became aware of Tatum, when Charles Lever, came into the radio station one day, a few years ago, and mentioned to me that I should check out the dog that he and his wife, Nicole had rescued because he was developing a huge following on Social Media. Man, was he right. One look at his accounts shows you that Tatum is now a full-fledged star.
Tatum is an energetic pooch, who is crushing it on his TikTok page with 3.7M followers, and a total of 100.9M likes from all the creative videos that his owners post. His Instagram is popular too, with 600,000 people checking out his daily adventures.
Tatum is also the star of a new book called "Tatum Comes Home" It tells the heartfelt and humorous story about a charismatic canine’s journey home.
The book is available to order on Amazon
Most of Tatum's wacky videos feature a funny voiceover, that is actually Charles. Either way, they are extremely entertaining. Check out some of his most recent posts, including delivering some treats to the Bangor Humane Society, and the recent solar eclipse!
