Paws On Parade Is Coming Back to Bangor This October

Grab the leash and get ready, because one of Bangor’s favorite pet events is making its way back to the waterfront.

The Bangor Humane Society’s 33rd Annual Paws on Parade is happening Saturday, October 3rd, at the Bangor Waterfront, bringing together local animal lovers and their four legged friends for a day of fun, fundraising, and plenty of community spirit.

If you’ve never been, Paws on Parade is basically one big celebration of pets, with a community walk and parade at the center of it all. People and their animals come together to support the Bangor Humane Society while enjoying a day filled with vendors, food trucks, prizes, activities, fundraising teams, and plenty of time to hang out with fellow pet lovers.

And while it’s definitely a fun day, there’s an important reason everyone is gathering.

Paws on Parade is the Bangor Humane Society’s largest annual fundraiser, and it has raised well over $100,000 in recent years. Those funds help the organization care for animals in need, provide shelter and veterinary care, and give pets a chance at finding their forever home.

The event has been a Bangor tradition for more than three decades, and after last year’s Paws on Parade looked a little different due to a canine parvovirus outbreak that meant dogs couldn’t attend, 2026 marks a chance for the community to come together with their pets once again. Attendees should, of course, keep an eye out for any health and safety guidance from the Bangor Humane Society as the event approaches.

Whether you’re signing up with a fundraising team, bringing your dog along for the walk, checking out the vendors, or simply coming down to support the Bangor Humane Society, there are plenty of reasons to make a Saturday of it.

It’s a pretty simple: bring the pets, bring the community, have some fun, and help raise money for animals who need it.
