The Butcher The Baker, located at 84 Hammond Street in Downtown Bangor, is a restaurant with a distinctive vibe. Originally launched as a food truck in 2021, it opened as a full-service restaurant in 2023. Chef Carl Birmingham and General Manager Brittany LeVasseur bring decades of combined experience in the food industry to the kitchen and dining room.

The Butcher The Baker describes itself as a “new American scratch kitchen,” with most items, from bread and sauces to cured meats, made in-house.

The menu is eclectic and creative, blending comfort food with global influences. American classics like steak frites and chicken & waffles share the menu with dishes like Thai noodles, curries and Korean-style pork belly.

The atmosphere is modern with a slightly rustic feel, casual, but still chef-driven, and the restaurant is complemented by a fantastic and creative cocktail program.
