Guess what delicious treat is back in season in Maine?

Maybe you are headed to the beach this weekend, or up to your camp, or maybe you are psyched for Beats & Eats on the Bangor Waterfront. Maybe none of those things appeal to you, and you are looking for something different to do, that includes the whole family. We have an idea for you!

Tastes like strawberries
On a summer evenin'
And it sounds just like a song
I want more berries
And that summer feelin'
It's so wonderful and warm

Okay, maybe the lyrics to that Harry Styles song aren’t really about strawberries, but either way, Maine strawberry season is upon us once again. Maine strawberry season typically run runs from mid-June until mid-July, so they are now ripe for the picking (no pun intended) Not only is it a fun activity for
all ages, but there are so many things you can make with them, like strawberry cake, cobbler, cookies, ice cream, pie, salad, shortcake, smoothies. Also, if you are 21+, they go pretty good with champagne. I can only afford the bubbly at Hannaford, but it gets the job done.

Treworgy Family Orchards, at 3876 Union Street, in Levant, is nearby, and they are open every day picking from 8am-4pm. They also feature a strawberry stand in Bangor at Gifford's.

There are several other places nearby to have a fun strawberry picking experience:

Adam's Strawberry Acres
1409 Main Street/Broadway, Route 15, East Corinth

RJ Hall’s Family Farm (formerly Tate’s)
136 Puddledock Road, Corinth
