Want To Commemorate the 20th Anniversary of 9/11? You May Want To Check Out These Events
It's hard to believe 20 years have passed since the world stood still and watched the destruction unfold the morning of September 11, 2001.
I'd wager a guess we could all name, with uncanny clarity, where we were and what we were doing when we heard the news.

And while I have seen a number of online events being mentioned as a way to commemorate the two decades that have passed since that time, I noticed a couple of local places folks could go to honor the occasion and pay their respects this year.
In Orono, up at the University of Maine, they will be holding an observance ceremony on Friday, the day before the 20th Anniversary. According to the Orono Fire Department Facebook Page, the event is set to take place between 12 and 12:30PM that day.
"The 20th anniversary of 9/11 will be observed at noon on Sept. 10 on the UMaine Mall with a moment of silence and a reflection from Capt. James Settele. The Division of Student Life also will organize a Mall display of the names of the 9/11 victims."
"Join with us on 9-11 at 8:30 am for a brief commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks on America. All are invited to gather in front of the station as we recall that day followed by a period of silence at 8:46 am, the time flight 11 impacted the North Tower. All are invited to join with us for refreshments after the ceremony.
NEVER FORGET!"
