You can now get the holiest of all Maine donuts in the Bangor area!

There are few things better than starting the day with a hot cup of coffee and a delicious donut. You can get them at the usual places like Dunkin, or Tim Horton's, but when they are Maine made, it just hits a little different.

Maine has so many places to get great donuts, including traditional bakeries and innovative shops, all across the state.

In fact, donuts are so popular here that there is an Annual Rockport Donut Festival that kicks off summer, evey June.

The Holy Donut is a family-owned donut shop in Portland, Maine, that serves gourmet donuts made with Maine potato flour. The mother, sister, and youngest members of the family are all involved in the business.

They are known for large, dense, "cake" style donuts, using all-natural ingredients, including cage-free eggs, unbleached wheat flour, real potato, and real buttermilk.

When they first opened in Portland, back in 2012, The Holy Donut became an instant hit, making people from other parts of the state extremely jealous, but now, finally, you can enjoy the tasty treat right here in the Greater Bangor area.

Tiller & Rye, located at 20 South Main Street in Brewer, is a Maine natural grocery store featuring fresh produce, grass fed meats, cheeses, dietary alternatives, bulk spices and grains, fresh baked breads, craft beers and organic wines, and now, The Holy Donut!

Stop in and grab a dark chocolate sea salt, fresh lemon, sweet potato coffee cake, or pomegranate donut to start the day.

Tiller & Rye is open Monday-Saturday, from 8am-7pm, and Sundays, from 10am-5pm.
