Stephen King broke onto the literary scene in a big way with the release of "Carrie" in 1974.

When he followed it up with "Salem's Lot" in 1975, "The Shining" in 1977 and "The Stand" in 1978, it was clear King had many more to stories to tell. Fast-forward to today, and King's more than 60 published works comprise an eerie anthology, to be sure.

From writing for the campus newspaper at the University of Maine, to teaching at Hampden Academy, to raising a family in Bangor, to becoming a worldwide literary figure, King has seen some changes in style and look throughout the years.
