Sarah’s Adventures With The Skin Room: My First Lash Lift and Tint

I am admittedly not a beauty-obsessed kinda lady. I will forget to put on make-up and feel a little self-conscience when I remember and I'm already out and about. Luckily for the lazy girl like me, mask wearing hides some of the face so there's that.

But also lucky for the lazy girl like me who still wants to be presentable in public, the lash lift and tint service offered by The Skin Room in Ellsworth makes it so I really don't have to think about what I could do to my eyes before I go out - the one part of my face that people will actually see. It's just like having mascara on except I sit for 45 minutes, get the service done and I don't have to think about making time or effort into putting mascara on.  In my natural-and-easy world, this fits perfect in my routine and adds that little bit of extra that makes me feel just a little bit better when I'm out and about.

Admittedly, again, I didn't really know what I was in for with a lash lift and tint.  So, I checked out a video that showed the process of the lash lift and tint process.  I'm a bit over protective of my eye area and became a little concerned that my instinct would kick-in and I might actually karate-chop the technician. Again, I don't want to do that but my body might try to defend itself- it's all I'm saying.

So, I felt a little nervous going into this seeing how much my eye area would be handled but, knowing Lauren and the staff at The Skin Room, my fears subsided to feel a little excited about going through the process.

And I'm glad I did!

Kiersten did my lash lift and tint and we automatically had an instant connection, which I'm finding is quite normal for me with the staff at The Skin Room. She had me lay down on a table as she explained what was going to happen and how long to expect things to go for.

Getting this done with Kiersten definitely did not feel like 45 minutes. Honestly, I'm not sure how long it was because, we got to talking and it was great to get to know her. It was great because I was not even really aware of the work she was doing on my eyeballs.  Remember, I'm a squeamish eyeball person - well, I must have had the greatest technician ever because, not once did I karate-chop her or really even feel apprehensive about what was happening.

Like I said, time went so fast that I didn't really notice how things were happening but, according to the pictures, she put these sticker protectors on my lower lashes and a yellow sticker 'mold' on my lash line above my upper lashes.  She applied a product that curls the lashes as defined by the mold.  Kiersten went a little more natural and less dramatic with the mold she chose for me so keep in mind that there were other molds that would have had a much more dramatic look if that's what you'd prefer.

The first product needed to sit for a little while and then Kiersten applied a darkening color to achieve a 'mascara-applied' effect.

That was pretty much it.

I would definitely get this again and might even experiment with a more dramatic mold just to mix it up a little but, this is an easy service to get done every few months that is totally worth my time and energy.

What I love is that I am a super-low maintenance lady but I do appreciate a natural look that does include a little effort and this service fits perfectly with what I want to achieve and what amount of effort and energy I am willing to put into it to get what I want to achieve.  It's a good fit for me!

Here I am a week later with NO eyeliner or mascara on.  Super natural chic!

I could also see this being great for ladies that are much more involved with their beauty routine or maybe even looking to make a bit of a more au-naturel look.

Loved Kiersten, really impressed with the results and I look forward to rocking this simple, natural look for the next few months.
