Mainers braved a frigid cold start to the week. It looks like the weekend will feature a return to the cold.

The National Weather Service is forecasting another arctic blast. The frigid temps return to Maine Friday night, when overnight lows are expected to be well below zero. The Bangor area will see temps dip to nearly -10 overnight Friday, into Saturday. Daytime temps Saturday will likely top-out near 5 above. Overnight lows are once again expected to be near -10, Saturday night into Sunday.

Northern areas will likely remain sub-zero Friday night, through to Sunday.

Earlier in the week, arctic air combined with windy conditions prompted the issuing of Wind Chill Advisories and Warnings around the state. Bangor saw it's coldest day since January 6, 2018. For Caribou, Monday was the coldest day since January 8, 2015.
