Celebrate National Potato Chip Day, with the brand that Mainers love the most!

Without a doubt, every time I get a sandwich for lunch, I always grab a bag of Humpty Dumpty potato chips. You can’t go into a convenience store, or supermarket in Maine and not find a bag. It’s pretty much impossible. Way back in the day, my favorite thing to do was visit the old Coffee Pot, on State Street in Bangor, grab a super deluxe salami Italian, with no tomato and light onions, a cold drink and those delicious chips. It was a must.

Humpty Dumpty Snack Foods, is of course named after the nursery rhyme character and features the character right on the bag.

The Humpty Dumpty Potato Chip Company, was founded in 1947 in Scarborough, and then acquired by Borden, Inc., in 1989. In January 2000, it was then sold to the Canadian firm “Small Fry”. Then it was sold yet again to Old Dutch Foods, who took over in 2006, but Mainers continue to claim it as our own.

With flavors like Ketchup, Dill Pickle, Salt & Vinegar, BBQ, plus the popular Sour Cream & Onion and All-Dressed, and the ridged chip options, Humpty Dumpty continues to be the go-to chip for the Pine Tree State, so we thought it would be a perfect time for all of you to tell us your favorite flavor!

Also, if you, or someone you know has moved far away from New England, and are homesick for this delicious treat, you can order some through the awesome company Box of Maine
