It’s coming, whether we like it or not. Colder weather. And with the drop in temperatures comes a reminder that lots in our community, especially this year, are not prepared for winter. Specifically winter clothing. It’s been a very tough year for many who are juggling limited resources to come up with everything they need. And one of the items that is easily neglected, or at least set aside for later, is a warm winter coat that fits for yourself and for your kids.

Time to look through our closets and get rid of coats and jackets we no longer have use for. Penquis who’s slogan is Helping Today Building Tomorrow is encouraging people to drop off ‘gently worn’ coats of all sizes at any Gold Star Cleaners location in Penobscot County. Gold Star Cleaners drop off locations are: 220 Union Street in Bangor, Brewer Shopping Center in Brewer, 200 Wilson Street also in Brewer, Corner of Main & Depot in Lincoln, University Mall in Orono and Old Town Plaza, Old Town.

Every one of all ages deserves to be warm this winter. Hopefully you can help out.
