Nature Walkers, Caring Citizens Needed for This Weekend’s Kenduskeag Stream ‘Trail Day’
It is that time of the year when the snow is about to fly and we are scrambling to get things situated before the long, cold winter. It's also the time when we are still trying to get a little outside time before snow covers the ground and we have to find other ways to stay active.
If you are looking to get the littles or your squad out for a little exercise this weekend with a greater purpose, you can help out with the fall cleanup of the Kenduskeag Stream trail.
This Saturday FOLKS is back to get some clean-up done on the Lower Kenduskeag Stream to prep it for another long cold winter.
This same event was put on in April to help with spring cleanup of the trail and they are looking to accomplish the same thing, clean up the trail for others to enjoy in the coming months.
Participants will be meeting this Saturday starting at 9:30 AM behind Penquis CAP on Harlow Street in Bangor.
This two-hour meetup is looking to accomplish a few things including pruning and weeding the trail corridor and cleaning up litter and graffiti, you know keep the trail looking nice until the next clean-up in the spring.
They are looking for about eight volunteers to help out but, the more the merrier, right? Bring some water, work gloves and some solid boots, as well as some gardening tools for pruning, a weed wacker and bring the wheelbarrow, if you can.
Follow 'FOLKS November Trail Day' event on Facebook and help out and get outside this Saturday in Bangor.
