The time to make end of the summer outdoor plans is here! The Pine Tree State, offers up so many different ideas for road trips that people of all ages can enjoy.

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, located in Boothbay, Maine, features over 270 acres of stunning gardens, including a variety of plants native to Maine.

Their gardens feature vibrant blooms, tranquil water features and scenic walking trails. Visitors can enjoy seasonal events, art exhibits and educational programs.

They started the 2026 season, back on May 1st, and will remain open through October, so there is plenty of time to exploe this beautiful spot.

Tours & Events

  • Accessible Cart Tours: Explore the gardens on a guided cart tour, available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from May 1 to October 19, with multiple time slots.
  • Highlights Tours: A daily hour-long tour of the central gardens, meeting on the Great Lawn at 11 am from May 1 to October 19.
  • Forest Therapy Walk & Tea: Experience the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, or forest therapy/forest bathing, to deepen your connection with nature.
  • Member Photography Club: Capture the beauty of the gardens with fellow members every other Thursday.
  • Garden Classes and Workshops
