Man Charged In Series Of Old Town Car Burglaries

A Lewiston man faces several charges related to a series of car burglaries in Old Town.

Gaven Charest, 18, originally was charged in the break-ins, but provided a fake name and fled the area, according to police.

Police recovered seveal stolen itmes in a vacant house, where Charest was living.

On July 13, Charest was arrested in Lewiston. He now faces charges for 18 Counts of burglary to a motor vehicle, eight charges of theft, and aggravated forgery for signing a summons under a fake name.
