A food truck lovers dream exists in the State of Maine, that would make for the perfect summer road trip!

I can't lie, I have a fairly huge obsession with food trucks. I really get obsessed when there are multiple trucks in one space at the same time, so it goes without saying that I have spent more than a few days on the Bangor Waterfront, grabbing lunch.

Food trucks have existed since as early as the 1930s, but they gained their true popularity in more recent decades, after the 2008 recession. At any given time, there are a multitude of trucks out on the streets in the Bangor area, and beyond.

Congdon’s After Dark is New England’s largest food truck park, located in Wells, Maine, adjacent to the iconic Congdon’s Doughnuts.

Since 2017, it has become a must visit summer destination, offering an increidble mix of food, drinks, entertainment, and best of all, the gorgeous Wells Beach is nearby!

Here is what to know before you go:

Food Trucks: Each evening, 10 food trucks serve a diverse array of cuisines, including BBQ, seafood, Thai, vegan, gluten-free, and more. The lineup changes nightly, featuring both local favorites and new vendors. In 2024, 27 different trucks were scheduled throughout the season .

Beer Garden: The park's Maine-centric beer garden offers a selection of craft beers from local breweries, some infused with flavors from Congdon’s doughnuts, such as the Honey Dip Blonde and Jelly Doughnut IPA .

Entertainment: Enjoy live music, car shows on Mondays, and family-friendly activities like balloon artists and face painting. Tithing Tuesdays support local nonprofits, with 10% of food truck proceeds donated each week .

Atmosphere: The park provides both indoor and outdoor seating, free parking, and is pet-friendly (leashed pets welcome). It's located less than two miles from Wells Beach, making it a convenient stop for beachgoers .

Season & Hours: From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, every Thursday-Sunday, from 4pm-8pm

Location: Congdon’s After Dark is situated at 1100 Post Road, Wells, Maine, in the parking lot of Congdon’s Doughnuts.
