Iconic Glenburn Furniture Store Closing After 45 Years

The end of an era is near for Tuffy Bear in Glenburn!

These days, it's hard to have longevity in the business world, especailly when it is a locally owned one, so when the day comes to close up shop, all of us that grew up with it in our daily lives tend to get a little nostalgic for a simpler time, before the on-line shopping, and Walmarts and Targets took over everything.

Since way back in 1978, Tuffy Bear Discount Furniture, located at 938 Pushaw Road in Gleburn, has been one of the lagrest furniture stores here in the State of Maine, but that is all about to change. But first things first, a big shout for the last 45 years!

Following a public liquidation sale that starts on Thursday, July 4th, at 10am, Tuffy Bear will close their doors for good. Owner Shawn Graham, who took over the business with his wife in 1984, is retiring.

The news is kind of a bummer, but you can get some great deals that could include up to 50% off on some furtinture items, including:

• Dining room
• Bedroom

Of course they feature top brands, like LA Z Boy, Sealy, Stearns & Foster, and much, much more!

Over the years, Tuffy Bear has been known for some creative TV commercials that featured their mascot, and a pretty good sense of humour.
