It's a great season in Maine when Bangor get's it's Gifford's ice cream shack back on Broadway, after a long winter hiatus.

It's something we look forward to every year and today's the day to celebrate it's seasonal arrival.

But, this year, there's something else Gifford's Ice Cream has to celebrate.

One of Maine's most iconic brands, manufacturing one of the nation's most favorite ice creams out of Scarborough, is collaborating with the Boston Celtics to become the Official Ice Cream of the Boston Celtics.

Gifford's Ice Cream made the announcement on their Facebook page yesterday that they have joined forces what the world's greatest, or at least New England think's so, basketball team:

The Facebook post makes the announcement and telling us what their Celtics inspired flavor is all about:

Hey New England sports fans, there's a new flavor in (title) town. 🍀 🏀 We are wicked thrilled (like, Gino Time excited 🕺) to announce that Gifford's is the official ice cream of the legendary Boston Celtics! We knew we needed to go all out to create a flavor that could carry the history of the Cs but also excite the best fans in the world. So welcome our new flavor, Full Quart Pretz to the game. He may be a rookie, but we think he'll be a slam dunk.

Full Quart Pretz is being made as we speak and will be shipping to stores soon, be on the lookout!

Don't expect this delicious concoction to be available at the stand today but, do expect your favorite Gifford flavors and remember to do your social distancing.

Congratulations, Giffords, and here's to a new season of ice cream, Bangor!
