Enjoy a Derby get together at a brand new Bangor watering hole, this Saturday!

The race itself takes a backseat to the party!

One of the fun partying days of the year is coming up this Saturday! The 2023 Kentucky Derby is run on the first Saturday in May, and this year, it will feature a 20-horse field, with post time scheduled for 6:57pm

This is an occasion where people cut loose and go all out, sipping the traditional beverage of the race, the mint julep. It's a delcious iced drink consisting of bourbon, mint, and sugar syrup

And you can't forget the fashion! A pantsuit, cocktail dress or business formal attire is the norm. And you can't forget the crazy hats that people love to wear!

With the forecast calling for sunny skies and a high near 70 degrees in Bangor, it looks to be a great day to go all-out for Kentucky Derby shenanigans.

This Saturday from 3pm-9pm, Greenleaf's Trackside Grill at Bass Park will open, and kick things off with a "Kentucky Derby Day" party

Greenleaf's Trackside Grill is owned by our pal Mark, who also owns Carolina's Sports & Spirtis, and this will be their first event of the year.

They will be serving concessions inside, including chilli, seafood chowder, pizza, burgers, cheesesteaks, fries, salads & more

They will also have a fully stocked bar inside, and at the tiki bar outside

Come have some good food and drinks, make some bets, watch the race, and enjoy a day at the track.
