The New England Patriots ride into the playoffs with a 38-3 thrashing of the New York Jets and the first round bye that comes with being the #2 seed.

A possible #1 seed awaits the outcome of the games involving the KC Chiefs and LA Chargers.

The Patriots finish the regular season 11-5 and for the 9th straight year will have a playoff bye. Since 2001 the Pats have had 13 seasons with a playoff bye.

Tom Brady looked like the Tom Brady Pats fans remember. 24-for-33 passing, 250 yards and four touchdowns to four different receivers - Julian Edelman, Rex Burkhead, James White and Phillip Dorsett.

Brady has thrown four TDs in game now 29 times.  And, he has joined the 6,000 completions club which includes only three others, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre and Drew Brees.

Meanwhile, the Patriots defense allowed just 239 of offense by the Jets. The Pats forced three fumbles, had four sacks and one defensive score.
