One of Maine’s biggest summer traditions returns to Rockland this Wednesday, bringing five days of fresh lobster, live entertainment, family fun and coastal celebration.
Now in its 79th year, the Maine Lobster Festival takes over Rockland’s waterfront from July 29 through August 2, welcoming thousands of visitors to one of the state’s most beloved annual events.
Festivalgoers can enjoy free admission, fresh Maine lobster, live music, beer tents, fireworks, the two-day Steins & Vines tasting event, an expanded children’s area and plenty of family-friendly activities.

What started in 1947 as an effort to support Midcoast Maine communities has grown into an internationally recognized celebration of Maine’s seafood industry and coastal culture. Today, the festival draws visitors from across the country and around the world.
The festival takes place at Harbor Park in downtown Rockland, making it easy for visitors to experience everything the waterfront event has to offer. Free parking is available at South Elementary School and Oceanside High School, with complimentary shuttle buses running to and from the festival grounds approximately every 30 minutes.
After nearly eight decades, the Maine Lobster Festival remains one of Maine’s signature summer traditions, and this year’s celebration is expected to bring even more food, fun and unforgettable moments.
