With this depressing rainy weather sticking around for a while, now is the time to seek out some indoor fun!

For the most part, the Bar Harbor Oceanarium & Education Center has been open only sporadically for the last several years, but on May 17th, they opened their doors for an entire season of activities for the whole family

The Oceanarium and Education Center is a science museum of the Acadian sea, shore, and sky, located on the coast of Maine, within historic Acadia National Parl on Mount Desert Island, at 1351 State Route 3, in Bar Harbor,

They provide educational exhibits and programs for all ages, on ecology, marine biology, fisheries, aquaculture & more

New owners and fresh new exhibits await!

  • Climb aboard their 29-foot authentic indoor lobster boat
  • Check out 2000 gallons of authentic Gulf of Maine habitat in 9 tanks
  • It is home to rare Blue, calico, and Orange Maine Lobster
  • Enjoy the 650-gallon touch pool with sea stars, crabs and more

Now-June 21st Wednesday-Sunday, from 1pm-5pm
June 21st-September 10th, 7 days a week, from 9am-5pm
September 13th-October 29th Wednesday-Sunday, from 1pm-5pm

Ages 12 and Up- $18
Seniors 65+ Active Duty Military & Vets $15
Ages 3-11 $12
Under 3 Free admission

This Saturday from 1pm-5pm, don't miss the Maine Ocean Festival at Bar Harbor Oceanarium & Education Center

Enjoy a day of live music with Bee Parks and The Hornets, and The Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers will perform “Everybody Loves Pirates”.

There will be carnival games including a dunk tank, arts and crafts with Mike Duffy, ocean-oriented vendors, plus speakers and presenters throughout the day.
