This one-of-a-kind Maine spot is ready to crank things back up

Currently closed for a much needed winter break, the iconic Geddy's is preparing to open for year 52, on Thursday, March 5th!

An iconic landmark in Bar Harbor, Geddy’s was once a dingy waterfront dive bar, before it changed hands and became one of the best restaurants in the state.

Gerry “Geddy” Mitchell bought the rundown bar in 1974. He built the place into a world-famous destination with entertainers, including Bonnie Raitt, Wynton Marsalis, Taj Mahal, Pure Prairie League, Arlo Guthrie, Livingston Taylor, and Los Lobos.

In 1987, Geddy’s was sold, and transformed into one of best restaurants in Maine. No trip to Bar Harbor is complete without a stop at this famous spot for lobster & lobster rolls!

Geddy’s offers a fun and relaxed atmosphere with friendly service, overlooking the harbor. The restaurant has a cool local vibe with historical photographs and memorabilia of Bar Harbor lining the walls.

The legendary circular bar is perfect to hang with friends, or to catch a game, while having a few cold ones.

The menu celebrates the best of Maine with fresh lobster and seafood caught in the waters directly in front of the restaurant. The lobster rolls are prepared with daily fresh-picked lobster meat, or you can pick your own lobster straight from the live tank.

Also, you can chow down on delicious pizza, burgers, gluten free, and more. At Geddy’s, there is always something for everyone!

The website Lovefood ranked Geddy's as the 39th most charming dining spot in the United States!

Geddy's is located at 19 Main Street, in Bar Harbor. Meet ya there on March 5th, when the kick off year 52!
