The Hammond Street Congressional Church of Bangor is hosting a vigil to honor National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day.  This service is a part of a nationwide remembrance that communities across America will participate in.

The first day of winter and the longest night of the year was selected to honor the plight of the homeless.

The service will begin at 6 PM on Friday, December 21st and run until 8 PM.

There will be a brief memorial service to honor the homeless that have passed as well as music, guest speakers, and a time of remembrance.

Refreshments will be provided after the service.

Other organizations that will be a part of the event include: Hope House Health & Living Center, Penobscot Community Health Care, and Families and Children Together.
