1991 - Pearl Jam

The Seattle grunge godfather's, Pearl Jam, start recording their album Ten this week in 1991, marking their debut.

1998 - Backstreet Boys

Saturday Night Live features The Backstreet Boys in which they perform the songs "As Long As You Love Me" and "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart.".

2003 - 50 Cent

Detroit rapper 50 Cent is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 'In Da Club'.  It stays there for nine weeks.

2006 - James Blunt

America gives James Blunt mad props when his song "You're Beautiful" hits #1.

2016 - Ariana Grande

Another love connection this week in music history... though we now know it wasn't a match made in heaven, necessarily.  Ariana hosts SNL, where she meets our favorite lyric name and her now past fiance... Pete Davidson.
