‘Welcome To Maine’ Visits The Old Port [VIDEO]
Let's hit the Old Port bub! Beers are on me!
A couple of good ol' boys named Troy and Mark, consider themselves to be the ultimate Maine Tourism Guides, fella. They know everything about the Pine Tree State, and have a Facebook page and YouTube channel devoted to getting you acquainted with what make us Mainers tick!
Actually, it turns out that Tory and Mark are actually comedians, James Theberge and Ian Stuart. You can see them perform on The Maine Comedy All-Stars shows, and at various places across the state.
They are on a self proclaimed "2020 Welcome To Maine Tour" and the latest stop is a place where I spent just about every weekend of my 20's, Portland's legendary Old Port. I haven't been out of Bangor much this whole year, so when things get back to normal, it might be time to revisit my old stomping grounds. In additon to all the watering holes, the Old Port has some of the best shops & restaurants in the entire state of Maine.
The guys have been all over the state, including a stop to see our pride & joy, the iconic Paul Bunyan statue, which is located right out in front of the Cross Insurance Center here in Bangor.
They also dropped a Halloween clip, where they are standing in front of Stephen King's house on West Brodaway. For the record, they didn't think it was a dump, like our friendly tourist from a few months back.
They have also visited the Moxie Store in Lisbon Falls, to investigate the unusual and polarizing taste of Maine's most famous soft drink. It's all done with a healthy dose of 207 accents and humor of course.
In another episode, they check out the legendary B&M Baked Bean Factory, in Portland, and as you can imagine, there are at least a couple of fart jokes thrown in for good measure.
