Waterfront Concerts Unveils Development Plan For Bangor Waterfront Venue

Waterfront Concerts this week unveiled its long-term, multi-phase development plan for the Bangor waterfront concert venue along the Penobscot River.

Among its planned improvements, the project would add concessions areas and restroom areas to Darling's Waterfront Pavilion, the new exterior of which would feature a modern architectural design. The project also would include premium box seating.

"This is only the surface of what we hope will be a very long-term partnership -- and many more of them -- where this venue can be utilized on a more regular basis," Waterfront Concerts promoter Alex Gray recently told a group of city officials.

In September of last year, the city of Bangor and Waterfront Concerts reached a 10-year agreement to continue offering concerts at the venue. The deal requires a minimum of 10 shows a year and increases the city's share of ticket sales.

Any development at the venue would require additional city approvals.

This summer, the venue will host a number of big-name acts including Keith Urban, Imagine Dragons, Logic, Kenny Chensey, Jason Aldean, Foreigner, Pentatonix and more.
