The threat of Covid-19 has had a far reaching impact on the world, including the entertainment industry. Artist have cancelled tours. Museums have closed. Television shows have halted production. And with many movie theaters across the nation sitting empty, studios like NBCUniversal are looking for alternative ways to get the movies that have already been made, released to an audience.

One CNBC report quoted a recent press release in which NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell said that this new challenge has forced studios to rethink the way they distribute movies. "We wanted to provide an option for people to view these titles in the home that is both accessible and affordable."

For this reason, studios are teaming up with folks like Walmart and Vudu to create memorable viewing experiences for families. And the first major release of a premiere  feature film will be something the whole family can enjoy!

According to an article at moms.com, Walmart is going to release the newest Trolls movie this weekend!

"The Trolls World Tour #WalmartWatchParty premieres on April 10 at 6pm EST/ 3pm PST on Vudu with a Red Carpet preshow on Walmart’s Twitter at 5:30pm EST/2:30pm PST. The night will be full of surprises, including exclusive footage, interacting with characters from the film, movie trivia, and prizes. "

There will be a charge to rent the movie, but there will also be a bonus if you go through the store's online platform.

"To join the party, rent the movie on Vudu for $19.99 and tune in on Walmart’s Twitter (@Walmart) the night of. And bonus, customers who rent the movie and purchase any Trolls toy on Walmart.com will receive a $10 Walmart gift card."

"Trolls World Tour" will be the first of it's kind, with other movies like "Emma" and "The Invisible Man" to follow.

Of course, round these parts, Friday kicks off the Easter Weekend. And since both parents and kids have been working hard to make these recent changes to our world work for everyone, I can't think of a better way to enjoy some much earned family down time, than taking in a new movies, in your PJs!
