Good news for all you beach enthusiasts!

The opening day for Morgan's Beach in Enfield, has been moved up to Tuesday, June 15th, a change from the original date of June 18th.

This weeks scorching heat wave has people ready to hit the sand & water at beaches all over the state of Maine. It's probably pretty reasonable to expect this to be a very busy summer season. People are ready to get outside and enjoy life again, and one of the best ways to do that is to hit the beach, for some fun in the sun

Morgan's Beach is a seasonal public beach on the western shore of Cold Stream Pond, located in the beautiful town of Enfield, located on Route 155, on the Enfield-Lincoln road. The grounds include a sandy beach, picnic area, playground area, changing rooms, bathrooms, and food & refreshments are sold at the Trap Shack.

There will be an official kick off event, Saturday, June 19th, from 12pm to 4pm, with a DJ playing music as part of a cookout featuring hamburgers and hotdogs, as well as water and soda. The food is free until gone.

And there is more free stuff! A pair of $5,000 donations will allow for free admittance for everyone using Morgan's Beach this summer. One $5,000 donation was made by Ware-Butler, part of the Pleasant River Lumber family. The other $5,000 donation was made by an anonymous donor. Beach attendants will still be part of the daily functions to assist with parking and other duties.

Morgan's Beach is also looking to put on a cornhole tournament for the 4th of July, from 4-8pm. They plan on having 10 boards. Player cost is $10.00 per person or $20.00 per team, with a double elimination. Registration details are coming soon.
